Sharing Wheels offers bike classes open to the public. The goal is to give people the skills to work on their own bikes – as well as to train future volunteers who can help in the shop.
Roadside Repair Class
6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
Oct. 9 or Nov. 13
If you want to be able to fix common issues faced when riding a bike, this one-night class is for you! Learn how to fix flats, adjust gears and tighten your brakes. This class is a crash course in the basics of keeping your bike rolling.
Students must register and pay by the Saturday before each class.
Registering for Classes
Use PayPal (write “class” in the “special instructions” section) or stop by the shop to pay by cash, check or credit. Your place is not guaranteed until we receive payment.
Students must register in advance. Call the shop to confirm we have space.
Basic Bike Mechanics

Class Size: Limited to 6 students
Advanced Bike Mechanics
This class is for those who want to get into the heart and soul of their bike. Learn the terms for parts of the bike and how to evaluate their condition. Learn about the bearing systems and how to overhaul them. Demystify the cable systems and get your machine running smoothly. Over the course of the class you will complete a full overhaul and tune on your bicycle (A $120 value). Bring your own bike or use one of ours.
Cost: $100 (plus parts if needed). Must be prepaid to secure spot in class. No refunds if participant cancels less than 7 days prior to first class.
Length: Four 3 hour sessions
