About Sharing Wheels

Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop is a non-profit organization located in Everett, WA. Started in 2002 by a small band of bike enthusiasts, Sharing Wheels has provided refurbished used bicycles to thousands of adults and children through our programs and bike sales.

What’s a Community Bike Shop?

The tools and bike stands at Sharing Wheels are available for anyone to use during open shop hours. People come in to fix their own bikes, often getting a little guidance from more experienced Sharing Wheels volunteers.

Low-income people, DIY-tinkerers, and basic bike geeks all benefit from our open community bike shop policy.

Board of Directors

As a 501(c)3, we have a board of directors whose job is to set the vision and direction for the shop. The current board was elected in 2021 and will serve until the 2022.

The board meets each month in Everett or virtually. Board meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend. Contact us for details.

Support Sharing Wheels

Used bike sales are the main source of income for Sharing Wheels. When you get a new bicycle, donate your old bike to Sharing Wheels. We’ll fix it up and find a new owner.

A donation of $5 is requested with every bike donation. That helps pay for the new parts and time we’ll put into making it safe and ready for its next owner.

Cash donations are welcome. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, EIN 47-0905216. Send or bring a check to Sharing Wheels, 2531 Broadway, Everett WA 98201 or donate online:

Nonprofit Mission

Every nonprofit should have a purpose, a problem we are trying to solve. At Sharing Wheels, we’ve realized that getting a bike is really not the biggest problem for our friends and customers (or for us!)

You can find used bikes aplenty here at Sharing Wheels, at thrift stores, garage sales, on Craigslist, and in front of many a homeless camp.

The problem is that bikes break. And people don’t know how to fix them.  So people can’t count on their wheels to get around, and bikes get dusty and rusty. That led us to our mission statement:

Keeping People & Bikes Moving

We do that through:

  • Empowerment: giving people access to tools, shop, and advice
  • Affordability: A bike for every budget
  • Sustainability: Reusing and recycling donated bikes
  • Education: Repair classes for customers, volunteers and community
