Exploring by bike

Back in July we received an email from a German family looking to get bikes to use on a trip through Canada and the US to better explore some towns and national parks. They arrived at the shop, picked up 4 bikes from us (for two adults and two children), and off they went!

Thanks to the bikes they scored, they were able to explore even better than if they only traveled by car. They were able to discover some amazing mountain biking trails in places like Kamloops & Fernie, BC, and Zion National Park, Utah that otherwise would not be discoverable. The bikes allowed the family the freedom to be independent of shuttle buses and work around limited parking.

It also allowed a bit of independence from each other. One morning, one of the boys was the very first person at the top of Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park and enjoyed the sunrise by himself before the crowds started to arrive.

We’re of course thrilled that the family enjoyed their trip and with the small way we impacted their wonderful experience. The family is back in Germany now, but before they left the US, they donated the bikes to a community bike shop near San José, so hopefully the bikes will make someone else’s journey just as happy.
